As the Easter holidays approach, families across the Dudley Borough are gearing up for a variety of fun and engaging activities. Whether you’re looking for sports, creative sessions, or live entertainment, there’s something for everyone this April.
Activities at Local Leisure Centres: Duncan Edwards, Crystal, and Halesowen Leisure Centres will host a variety of sessions, including free swimming, family disability swims, and pickleball. For those with younger children, soft play sessions will also be available at Duncan Edwards and Halesowen Leisure Centres. Football fans can enjoy £1 sessions at The Dell Stadium, providing affordable fun for the whole family.
Crafts and Easter Egg Hunts: A range of craft, circus skills, board games, and Lego workshops will be taking place at 13 borough libraries. Easter egg hunts will also be part of the fun, with the added bonus of the Holidays, Activities, and Food (HAF) programme offering activities for children who receive benefits-related free school meals.
Live Entertainment at Dudley Town Hall: Families can look forward to live performances at Dudley Town Hall. On April 18, young pop fans can enjoy Sweet and Sour – The Ultimate Tribute to Sabrina Carpenter and Olivia Rodrigo. For musical theatre lovers, a Wicked sing-along screening on April 25 offers a chance to belt out your favourite songs from the iconic show.
Red House Glass Cone: The Red House Glass Cone will be open on Good Friday, Saturday, and Easter Monday, with a special Easter trail throughout the break. Kids can enjoy free Easter crafts on April 18 and participate in ‘Make & Take’ sessions on April 19, where they can decorate Easter-themed bags. For those interested in something a little different, spring-related glass fusing sessions will also be available (advance booking required).
Dudley Museum at The Archives: Dudley Museum will be open during the Easter break, with a free family trail and Easter and Dinosaur craft sessions for those who pre-book. The museum will be open Thursdays, Fridays, and Saturdays, making it a great opportunity for a family day out.
Looking Ahead to May: For those planning ahead, the May Day Bank Holiday weekend will bring The Wonders of Our Universe to Dudley Town Hall on May 4, offering an immersive experience for older children. Stourbridge Town Hall will also host The Very Hungry Caterpillar live performance on May 2 and 3, a perfect treat for younger audiences.
