This Easter school holiday, Wagga Wagga and its surrounds are the perfect places for children and young people to dive into a variety of fun, adventure, and creativity! With plenty of exciting events and activities on offer, there’s something for everyone.
Explore the Botanic Gardens and Zoo
Autumn is the ideal time to visit the stunning Botanic Gardens, where you can explore the Zoo & Aviary and meet its adorable furry and feathered residents. Zoo Curator Wendy McNamara invites visitors to join daily meet-and-greet sessions between 11am and 12pm.
“Come along to feed the emus, pet the baby kangaroos and wallabies, say hello to the miniature cattle and donkeys, and meet the dingoes and farmyard animals,” Ms. McNamara shared. And for those who can’t attend the tours, don’t worry – the aviary is open for a “close encounter of the feathered kind,” where the friendly birds love to perch on visitors’ arms and heads.
The zoo will be open every day from 9am to 4pm, except for Good Friday (18 April).
