Ancol Lagoon Beach in northern Jakarta has become a popular spot for holidaymakers on the first day of the Eid celebrations, with visitors flocking to the beach for a day of relaxation and recreation.
By 10 a.m. local time on Monday, the beach was bustling with people enjoying various activities, from swimming and playing in the sand to picnicking under the shade of palm trees with family and friends. Despite the crowd, parking spaces were readily available, as the area was not overly crowded.
Among the many visitors was Gita from Cilacap, Central Java, who chose Ancol for her family’s Eid getaway due to its affordability and proximity to her parents’ home. “It’s close and cheaper,” Gita explained, sharing that this was her first Eid spent at Ancol with her family.
Sela, a visitor from Cakung, Jakarta, echoed similar sentiments, highlighting the beach’s easy accessibility and pleasant atmosphere for strolling with loved ones. “I came here for the Eid holiday, and it’s nice to walk around with my family,” Sela said, noting that this was not her first visit to Ancol for the holiday, as she had visited several times before, including the previous year.
Many visitors expressed plans to stay at the beach until evening to catch the sunset, making the most of the scenic location. In addition to beach activities, visitors have the option to rent sightseeing boats that cruise through the Ancol area, offering views of the beach, man-made islands, and the Putri Duyung area.
As the Eid holiday continues, Ancol remains a top destination for families seeking a blend of relaxation and outdoor fun.
