The Federal Government has declared Monday, March 31, and Tuesday, April 1, as public holidays in celebration of Eid-el-Fitr, marking the end of the holy month of Ramadan. Minister of Interior, Olubunmi Tunji-Ojo, made the announcement in a statement issued by the ministry’s Permanent Secretary, Magdalene Ajani.
The minister extended congratulations to Muslims nationwide for successfully completing their fasts during Ramadan. He emphasized the importance of embracing the virtues of self-discipline, compassion, generosity, and peace, highlighting love, forgiveness, and solidarity as key pillars in fostering a harmonious society.
Tunji-Ojo urged Nigerians to take this opportunity to pray for the peace, stability, and prosperity of the nation. He also encouraged citizens to celebrate responsibly, keeping the spirit of Ramadan alive by remembering the less privileged through acts of kindness and charity.
On behalf of the Federal Government, the minister sent heartfelt Eid Mubarak wishes to all Muslim faithful, praying that the blessings of the season bring happiness, success, and fulfillment to everyone.
