On Friday, Congresswoman Claudia Tenney of New York introduced the Trump’s Birthday and Flag Day Holiday Establishment Act, a bill that aims to make former President Donald J. Trump’s birthday, June 14, a federally recognized holiday. The bill proposes that Trump’s birthday be observed alongside Flag Day, which also falls on June 14 and commemorates the official designation of the “Stars and Stripes” U.S. flag in 1777.
In her statement, Tenney described the proposed holiday as a way to recognize Trump as “the founder of America’s Golden Age,” drawing a parallel to how George Washington’s Birthday is celebrated as a federal holiday. Trump, born on June 14, 1946, is currently 78 years old, just four years younger than President Joe Biden.
If passed, the bill would officially honor both Trump’s legacy and the nation’s flag on the same day each year.
