As the busy holiday travel season ramps up, the Saskatoon Airport Authority is offering practical advice to help passengers navigate the crowds and make their journeys as smooth as possible.
Stephen Maybury, President and CEO of the Saskatoon Airport Authority, stresses the importance of being well-prepared, especially when it comes to gifts. “If you’re carrying gifts, be sure to leave them unwrapped,” he advises, as security may need to inspect them, potentially ruining the surprise.
To avoid delays, Maybury recommends arriving at least two hours before your domestic flight and three hours prior to international departures. Checking in online in advance can save time, and the airport’s website offers various resources to streamline your travel experience. “You can also pre-book parking, which can be a real time-saver, and there are discounts available for parking and other services,” he adds.
Knowing your baggage requirements in advance can also help expedite your check-in process. “Be sure to check your flight status and baggage allowance before heading to the airport,” Maybury advises. “Using your airline’s app or website to confirm the latest updates is always a good idea.”
During the holiday season, about 4,000 people pass through Saskatoon airport each day, making it crucial to stay informed and organized. By following these tips, travelers can reduce stress and ensure a more enjoyable airport experience.
