The Canadian Pacific Holiday Train is rolling across the U.S. this holiday season, spreading cheer and raising awareness for food insecurity. From November 22 to December 17, the iconic train will make over 150 stops across Canada and the U.S., including major cities in New York, Illinois, and Minnesota. This marks the 26th year of the holiday tradition, with a festive lineup that includes performances from bands like American Authors and KT Tunstall, as well as appearances by Santa and his elves.
Although the train does not offer public rides, it will be a focal point for community gatherings. Along with musical performances, the event encourages donations for local food banks, with organizers emphasizing the fight against food insecurity. “We are excited to once again bring the magic of the season to communities, spreading holiday joy and raising money for a great cause,” said Canadian Pacific Kansas City CEO Keith Creel.
The train’s journey began with stops in New York on November 25-26 and will continue through Illinois, Iowa, and beyond. Notable U.S. stops include Wisconsin (December 7-9), Minnesota (December 10-16), and North Dakota (December 16-17). For a full list of stops and performances, fans can check the schedule online.
In addition to live music from artists such as the James Barker Band and Seaforth, the Canadian Pacific Holiday Train showcases its signature 1,000-foot-long display of holiday lights and decorations. The initiative aims to not only celebrate the season but also bring attention to the growing need for food donations across North America.
As the train moves through the U.S., it continues to be a symbol of generosity and togetherness, uniting communities in the spirit of giving.
