NBC has unveiled an exciting new project featuring the beloved late-night host Jimmy Fallon: an hour-long holiday music special titled Jimmy Fallon’s Holiday Seasoning Spectacular. This festive program is set to air during primetime, following the network’s annual broadcast of Christmas in Rockefeller Center.
The special will bring together Fallon and a star-studded lineup of performers from his recently released holiday music album. Viewers can expect appearances from prominent artists, including Meghan Trainor, Cara Delevingne, Dolly Parton, J.B. Smoove, the Jonas Brothers, Justin Timberlake, LL COOL J, The Roots, and “Weird Al” Yankovic. The show will culminate in a grand finale at the Top of Rockefeller Center, featuring a performance alongside the iconic Radio City Rockettes.
Fallon’s affinity for the holiday season is well-known, as he has consistently embraced festive themes throughout his career. His past work on The Tonight Show, as well as Late Night and Saturday Night Live, showcases a rich history of holiday segments. Notably, he created a tradition of performing his original Christmas song, “I Wish It Was Christmas Today,” alongside comedians Chris Kattan, Tracy Morgan, and Horatio Sanz.
In addition to his television endeavors, Fallon published a children’s book in 2020 titled 5 More Sleeps ’til Christmas. This year, he expanded the theme with a Halloween-themed spinoff, 5 More Sleeps ’til Halloween.
Fallon’s much-anticipated album, Holiday Seasoning, has been in the works for several years and features 16 original holiday tracks. Among these are the previously released singles “Almost Too Early For Christmas,” featuring Dolly Parton, “It Was A…(Masked Christmas)” with Ariana Grande and Megan Thee Stallion, and “Wrap Me Up” featuring Meghan Trainor.
The special is produced by Jesse Collins, who boasts an impressive resume that includes production roles for major events like The Oscars, The Grammys, the Emmys, and the Super Bowl Halftime show.
