Whether it’s a quick trip down the road or an extended road trip, the roads and skies are filled with travelers looking forward to a weekend away.
The 4th of July weekend is similar to other holiday weekends, providing a few days to pack up and travel with family. This year, AAA predicts that nearly 71 million people will be on the road over the next few days, a prediction that seems to align with observations from travelers.
Since the Covid-19 pandemic, AAA has reported a steady increase in the number of travelers. In Georgia alone, 2.3 million people are expected to hit the roads for the holiday.
With more people traveling, the Georgia State Patrol has increased police presence and is urging everyone to stay focused and safe during the holiday week.
